LEICESTER face two away meeting in as many days – starting at Kent tonight (6.30).
Stewart Dickson’s side make the long trip for a rearranged fixture before hitting the road again up to Glasgow 24-hours later.
It’s a daunting schedule, particularly for Watling JCB Lions skipper Kyle Howarth who raced for Premiership club Sheffield at Peterborough last night.
He said: “It’s a lot of travelling but it’s time on the bike and we’ve got a lot of meetings in a short space of time.
“We’re playing catch up with the Leicester away fixtures after recent rain-offs and the travelling aspect of quick turnaround of meetings is very demanding, but after missing an entire season last year I’m not complaining!
“This is the business end of the season and we know Kent will be tough with riders like Scott Nicholls and Troy Batchelor in their team.
“And I’m looking forward to getting back to Leicester on Saturday for the return against Kent when, hopefully, we can put three more league points on the board.”
KENT: Troy Batchelor, Ben Morley, Paul Starke, Cameron Heeps, Scott Nicholls, Jake Mulford, Dan Gilkes.
LEICESTER: Nick Morris, Dan Thompson, Hans Andersen, Kyle Howarth, Ryan Douglas, Joe Thompson, Zaine Kennedy.
